Product Description Topramezone 336 g per liter SC is a selective post emergence herbicide specially made for control of broadleaf and grassy weeds in maize and some other crops. It belongs to triketone chemistry which is known for strong bleaching activity on sensitive weeds. The suspension concentrate formulation ensures better absorption in leaf surface and quick uptake inside plant tissues. It works effectively even at low doses and provides excellent control of tough weeds like Echinochloa, Amaranthus, Digitaria and other annual species. Application at the early weed growth stage gives maximum results and helps in keeping crop weed free during the initial growth period. Mode of Action Topramezone inhibits the enzyme 4 hydroxyphenyl pyruvate dioxygenase HPPD in target weeds. This blockage disturbs the pathway of carotenoid biosynthesis which protects chlorophyll from photo oxidation. Due to absence of carotenoid pigments the chlorophyll degrades under sunlight and causes bleaching symptoms on weeds followed by drying and death. The herbicide is absorbed rapidly through leaves and shows systemic activity by translocation to meristematic regions. Benefits
