Spinosad 45% SC is a biological insecticide formulated as a suspension concentrate, containing 45% Spinosad as active ingredient. It is derived from naturally occurring soil bacteria and is widely used for managing chewing and boring pests in various crops. In crops like cotton, chilli and vegetables, borers and caterpillars can cause direct yield loss by damaging fruits, shoots and pods, so timely control is important. This formulation works through contact as well as ingestion. When pests come in contact with the spray or feed on treated plant parts, the active ingredient affects their nervous system. As a result, insects show continuous excitation, muscle contractions, tremors and finally paralysis, leading to death. Because of this strong action on feeding larvae, crop damage stops quickly after application.
