Product Description Pyriproxyfen 10 EC is a selective insect growth regulator widely used for controlling immature stages of many harmful pests in agricultural crops. It mimics the natural juvenile hormone inside the insect body and disturbs normal development and reproduction. The formulation is very effective on whiteflies, aphids, jassids, leaf miners and other sucking insects in cotton, vegetables, fruits and ornamentals. It has excellent translaminar movement which helps to reach hidden parts of the plant and gives longer protection. Pyriproxyfen is also known for its strong ovicidal action which prevent egg hatching and stop further pest population build up. Mode of Action Pyriproxyfen interferes with hormonal balance in insects by acting as a juvenile hormone analogue. It disturbs the molting process and prevents larvae from becoming adults. In adult insects it inhibits fertility and reduces egg viability which finally leads to collapse of the pest population. It mainly acts on eggs and nymphal stages and gives preventive action before pest outbreak.
