Product Description Pymetrozine 50 percent WG is a systemic insecticide specially developed for management of sucking insect pests in paddy. It is a unique pyridine azomethine group molecule which is highly selective against planthoppers, leafhoppers, aphids and whiteflies. The formulation is water dispersible granule which is easy to use and provides a longer residual effect. It is considered safer to beneficial insects and fits well in integrated pest management programs. Mode of Action Pymetrozine acts on chordotonal organs of insects that are responsible for coordination of feeding behavior. After feeding on the treated plant surface the insect loses its ability to suck sap and stops feeding immediately. The affected insects gradually die due to starvation. It has systemic activity and is translocated in plant tissue providing protection to new growth as well. This unique mode of action makes it very effective against resistant sucking pests where other insecticides fail.
