Product Description Propiconazole 25% EC is a systemic fungicide from triazole group mainly used to control a wide range of fungal diseases in cereals, oilseeds, and plantation crops. It is highly effective against rusts, leaf spots, sheath blight and powdery mildew. The product is absorbed quickly by plant tissues and provides internal protection to both treated and newly developed plant parts. Farmers use it widely because it gives reliable performance, long duration control and helps in protecting yield potential. Mode of Action Propiconazole interferes with the biosynthesis of ergosterol which is an essential sterol in the fungal cell membrane. In absence of ergosterol the fungal cell wall becomes weak and unable to grow further leading to death of the pathogen. It is absorbed through leaves and stems and then translocated acropetally to provide systemic protection. The fungicide has both preventive and curative properties which makes it effective at early as well as later stages of infection.
