Description Cypermethrin 25% EC is a broad spectrum synthetic pyrethroid insecticide widely used in agriculture to control various insect pests. It is highly effective at very low doses and provides a quick knockdown effect on insects. It acts on chewing and sucking type insects and is recommended for crops like cotton, pulses, cereals, vegetables and fruits. Cypermethrin is stable in field condition and remains active for a longer period giving protection to crops from pest attack. It is also less toxic to plants and safe when applied at recommended doses. Mode of Action Cypermethrin works by disturbing the normal functioning of the nervous system of insects. It acts on the sodium channel of the nerve membrane causing prolonged depolarization. This results in hyper excitation, paralysis and finally death of insects. It has strong contact and stomach action and quickly penetrates into the insect body. Because of its fast action it provides immediate control and reduces feeding damage on crops.
