Description Ametryn 80% WG is a selective herbicidal formulation widely used for effective management of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in sugarcane and pineapple cultivation. The product belongs to the triazine group and provides long lasting residual activity in the soil. Its water dispersible granule form ensures quick dissolution, reduced dusting and uniform distribution across the field. The molecule binds to soil colloids in a stable manner, which allows sustained weed suppression during early crop establishment when competition affects cane tillering and overall productivity.   Mode of Action Ametryn inhibits photosystem II electron transport in susceptible weed species. It blocks the transfer of electrons in the chloroplast membrane which causes rapid cessation of photosynthetic activity. This interruption leads to chlorosis followed by necrosis of targeted weeds.
