Acetamiprid 0.4% + Chlorpyriphos 20% EC is a combination insecticide designed for effective management of both sucking and chewing pests in a wide range of crops. Acetamiprid is a neonicotinoid insecticide which is highly systemic and provides protection against pests hidden in plant tissue while Chlorpyriphos is a contact and stomach poison that control soil as well as foliar insect. The mix together ensures strong knock down and long duration protection in crops like cotton paddy pulses, oilseeds, vegetables and fruit crops. Mode of Action Acetamiprid acts as an agonist of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect nervous system which disrupt normal signal transmission and cause paralysis and death. Chlorpyriphos inhibit the enzyme acetylcholinesterase leading to accumulation of acetylcholine at synapse which results in nervous breakdown of insects. Combination of two molecules attack the insect nervous system at different sites making control more effective and reducing risk of resistance.
