Chlorimuron Ethyl 25% WP is a selective post emergence herbicide widely used in soybean groundnut and other legume crops. It belongs to the sulfonylurea group and is highly effective at very low dose against broadleaf weeds and some sedges. The wettable powder formulation is easy to mix and apply and provide longer duration control of weeds which compete with crops in the early growth stage. Mode of Action Chlorimuron Ethyl inhibits acetolactate synthase enzymes which block the biosynthesis of essential branched chain amino acids in susceptible weeds. This results in disruption of cell division and growth leading to chlorosis necrosis and eventual death of weed. It is absorbed by both root and foliage and translocated within the plant system.
