Chlorfenapyr 10% SC is a new generation broad spectrum insecticide and miticide widely used in cotton vegetables, chili pulses, cereals and fruit crops. It belongs to the pyrrole group of insecticide and is effective on resistant pest populations where other insecticides fail. The suspension concentrate formulation gives better spreading penetration and longer persistence on the plant surface. It controls lepidopteran borers, mites, thrips and other difficult pests which cause heavy crop loss. Mode of Action Chlorfenapyr is a pro insecticide which is metabolized inside an insect to an active compound that uncouples oxidative phosphorylation in mitochondria. This blocks production of ATP energy required for cell function leading to paralysis, feeding inhibition and death of insects. It acts both by contact and stomach ingestion.
