Buprofezin 25% SC is an insect growth regulator used for effective control of sucking pest especially plant hoppers, whiteflies and scale insects. It belongs to the thiadiazine group and is widely used in paddy cotton vegetables and fruit crops. The suspension concentrate formulation ensures uniform spreading and better persistence on leaf surface. It is highly safe to beneficial insects and fits well in integrated pest management programs.Mode of Action Buprofezin inhibits chitin synthesis in immature stages of insects. This prevents molting and formation of new cuticles leading to death of nymph and larvae. It does not affect adult insects directly but reduces egg laying and fertility. Its action disrupts the life cycle and helps in long term suppression of pest population.Benefits • Highly effective against resistant population of hopper and whitefly • Break the life cycle of insect by acting on immature stages • Long residual activity provide extended crop protection • Safe to natural enemies and beneficial insects • Improve crop yield and quality by reducing sucking pest damage • Compatible for use in IPM based farming system
