Avarra is a highly effective miticide and insecticide containing Abamectin 1.9 percent in emulsifiable concentrate form. It is derived from natural fermentation of the soil actinomycete Streptomyces avermitilis. Avarra shows excellent control on mites, leaf miners, and certain other sucking and chewing pests in vegetables, fruits, cotton, ornamentals, and many other crops. It acts at very low doses and gives long residual control. Abamectin is known for its rapid knockdown and extended protection while being safe for most beneficial insects when used as recommended.
Mode of Action
Abamectin in AVARRA targets the pest nervous system by activating glutamate gated chloride channels. This causes disruption in nerve signal transmission, paralysis and eventually death of the insect or mite. It mainly acts through stomach ingestion and contact activity, with some translaminar movement inside the plant leaf tissue which ensures hidden pests are also controlled.
